Links generated using this method will authenticate seamlessly without asking student to log in using their TCC Borrower ID number.
First, navigate to the content area where you wish to insert the link. In Canvas this includes the Discussion Board, or any place you see the formatting bar below.
Click on the blue circle image:
Enter the URL you wish to link to in the form. This could be an article or a course specific Research Guide. Once created this link will authenticate students into any library database or article navigated to from your link.
The best way to provide your students with access to specific articles is through a persistent link, or PURL. These links will provide consistent access to a specific article without violating copyright restrictions.
Do not use the URL found in the web address bar in the browser window since this URL is often temporary. Instead, follow the guidelines below to locate the stable, persistent link - or contact your liaison librarian- we're happy to help!
A correctly generated link will not require the students to login to view the article.
